Urban Design Perspective Image from Planning Studio Course

Software:

Trimble Sketchup

Description:

I chose this image from a previous course as it relates to Urban Design and has the potential to be a virtual space.  The thirty acre site is modeled in SketchUp and could serve as a base for further architectural visualizations as I would like to research in my graduate studies.

From information obtained in the MindMap of the previous section, I brainstormed to find the title for my research.  Outlining items then helped to create the Abstract Below.

Abstract of

Performance Architecture

The aim of this paper is to inform  and discover the movements of architecture creations from the presentation stages to interactive multimedia constructions.  It is also the intent to formulate the idea of creating an interactive visualization during the 3D proposal of a fictitious event to take place.   This will be derived by the conclusions and findings of this article.

Autodesk’s AutoCAD is a brand of software that has been used as the industry standard for design documentation of the building process.  Due to limitations in the software allowed for other

companies to introduce software that would artistically enhance the designer’s vision for the built project.

As with creating virtual places in the gaming industry, the creation of digital urban spaces will be explored.  Combined with simultaneous advents of other technologies like Google Earth and Sketchup, Adobe’s motion graphic software began the quest for creating virtual environments to showcase an architect’s vision.

During these creative times, other professions have found their way with digital expressions.  Explored will be the combining of professions in multimedia events that have helped to cohesively reshape the presentation industry.  This will be explored with the tie in of other postproduction software.

and example to show the progression of this new design trend.  These may include digital events for mobility, artistic events from digital public constructions, and one-time events such as the performances created on architecture in multimedia venues.

Conclusions will discuss the future of this trend in comparison to other technological events that are also reshaping our environments.  Further more it will be revealed if a digital presentation of a digital event could be created for a proposal of an urban digital event. Various projects will be explored by case
